California Reinvestment Coalition 20th Annual Spring Benefit

Oakland, CA

The California Reinvestment Coalition (CRC) is hosting its 20th annual spring benefit to celebrate community investment leaders across California. CRC is an advocate for equitable access to financial institutions and products, particularly in low-income communities and communities of color. The coalition has used the power of the Community Reinvestment Act to advocate for financial institutions to provide lending and investments for affordable housing, small and minority-owned businesses, and job creation.

North Park Senior Apartments Grand Opening Celebration

San Diego, CA

Community Housing Works (CHW) is hosting a celebration for the grand opening of North Park Senior Apartments, a 76-unit affordable and supportive rental community that will serve LGBT seniors in San Diego. The project received a $750,000 AHP grant through member Western Alliance Bank.Ann Wilson, CWH’s SVP, Housing & Real Estate Development, sits on the Bank’s Affordable Housing Advisory Council.

Boulder Pines Family Apartments Community Grand Opening

Las Vegas, NV

Nevada HAND, along with the Boys & Girls Club of Southern Nevada (BGC) and Lutheran Social Services of Nevada (LSSN), are hosting a grand opening celebration for an innovative campus community. The Boulder Highway campus consists of Boulder Pines Family Apartments, a 90-unit affordable rental housing project, along with a new BGC clubhouse and new headquarters for LSSN. The affordable housing project was developed by Nevada HAND, which received a $900,000 AHP grant through member City National Bank.

Vista Grande Court Groundbreaking

Glendale, CA

LINC Housing, National CORE, and the City of Glendale are hosting a groundbreaking ceremony for Vista Grande Court, which will provide 65-units of affordable rental housing for seniors, including seven units set aside for seniors with intellectual or developmental disabilities. The project received a $650,000 AHP grant through member City National Bank.

Greenlining Economic Summit 2018

Oakland, CA

The Bank is among the sponsors of the Greenlining Economic Summit 2018, a meeting of stakeholders from business, government, and community groups. The Greenlining Institute is a policy, research, organizing, and leadership institute working for racial and economic justice. The Institute received a $35,000 AHEAD grant in 2015 to create a green building and technology apprenticeship and job training program for low-income local workers.

A Community of Friends 30th Anniversary Celebration - Beyond Perceptions

Los Angeles, CA

A Community of Friends (ACOF) is recognizing affordable housing leaders in the Los Angeles region as it celebrates its 30th anniversary. ACOF is a nonprofit affordable housing developer with a mission of ending homelessness for people living with mental illness. The organization has won multiple AHP grants and Executive Director Dora Leong Gallo sits on the Bank's Affordable Housing Advisory Council.

Community-Based Social Enterprises Workshop

California Community Economic Development Association (CCEDA) and the California Endowment are hosting a workshop on how community-based organizations can develop social enterprises to provide alternative revenue sources to augment existing programs. Attendees will be presented with an overview of how social enterprises operate, key concepts to consider in business planning, and case studies on successful programs. CCEDA received a $25,000 AHEAD grant through member Cathay Bank to support the workshop.
