Faith-Based Initiative
The Bank supports the establishment of faith-based community economic development and seeks to increase member awareness of and involvement in the faith-based market.
The Bank provides information and training; technical assistance regarding the Bank's products and services; networking opportunities through workshops, seminars, and conferences; access to capital and markets; and the opportunity to share ideas and support initiatives for reinvestment in underserved communities.
Beginning in 2000, the Bank launched its Faith-Based Initiative, an effort designed to connect our member financial institutions with faith-based organizations through training, workshops, and conferences. The Bank released
Breaking Down the Barriers: Perspectives on Faith-Based Lending (PDF), a survey of member financial institutions to describe their current lending practices to faith-based groups. In addition, the Bank developed
Tools for Building: A Resource Manual for Affordable Housing & Economic Development (PDF), a resource to encourage faith-based organizations to move forward in meeting their goals of being significant contributors to economic development and effective developers of affordable housing. Learn more about these
groups.
The Bank continues to invite requests for information to help build partnerships between members and faith-based organizations and to provide technical assistance on how to use our products and programs effectively.
