Who can submit an application for AHEAD Program funds?
Only Bank member financial institutions may submit applications for AHEAD Program funds.

How does the application process work?
Following the annual announcement of the AHEAD Program, Bank members, working in partnership with community-based sponsors, will submit applications for specific projects. The Bank will approve grants based on the evaluation of the grant application.

What kinds of projects are eligible to receive AHEAD funds?
The Bank will fund projects that provide housing, services, or other benefits to low- to moderate-income households, result in the creation or retention of jobs, or facilitate public or private infrastructure projects.

How much money is available for the AHEAD Program?
In 2011, the amount of AHEAD funds that will be made available to members is $1 million.

Are AHEAD Program grants recoverable?
Yes. If the project meets its goals, the project sponsors will repay the AHEAD grant to the Bank, which will recycle the funds for other economic development and affordable housing projects in Arizona, California, and Nevada.
