San Francisco – The Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco will host "Making Your Vision A Reality: A Faith-Based Conference for Affordable Housing and Economic Development" on October 17-19, 2004, in Los Angeles.

Featured keynote speakers include California State Treasurer Phil Angelides and HUD Deputy Secretary Roy Bernardi. Treasurer Angelides will discuss the direction of the Golden State’s housing and economic development efforts, while Deputy Secretary Bernardi will talk about the White House’s faith-based initiative and other housing and economic development issues.

This conference will offer financial institutions, faith communities, developers, and others the valuable tools they need to achieve their community development and affordable housing goals. In an intensive training environment, the 2-1/2-day conference will provide information and strategies that are crucial to moving community investment projects from concept to concrete. Attendees will receive more than 50 hours of training in housing and commercial real estate development, fundraising, partnership development, community building, and organizational development.

"We are interested in promoting public-private partnerships to spur affordable housing and economic development," said Stephen P. Traynor, Senior Vice President, Financial Services and Community Investment. "This conference will allow financial institutions, government agencies, and nonprofit groups to share their knowledge and expertise to revitalize their communities."

Presented by the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco, the conference is sponsored by Citibank (West), Washington Mutual, and Century Housing. "Making Your Vision A Reality: A Faith-Based Conference for Affordable Housing and Economic Development," will be held at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel.
