Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco Elects Michael Roster to its Board of Directors
San Francisco—The Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco’s Board of Directors has elected Michael Roster to serve as an elected director representing California. Mr. Roster’s term will expire on December 31, 2005.
Mr. Roster is Executive Vice President and General Counsel of World Savings Bank, FSB, as well as Golden West Financial Corporation, World Savings’ $110 billion holding company that operates in 38 states. Before that, he was General Counsel of Stanford University and Stanford Medical Center between 1993 and 2000. Prior to that, he was Managing Partner of Morrison & Foerster’s Los Angeles office, as well as Co-chair of the firm’s Financial Services Practice Group nationwide. Mr. Roster is currently a director of the California Bankers Association and previously has served as Chair of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACCA), outside director and Vice Chair of Silicon Valley Bank, Chair of the Stanford Alumni Association, and Chair of two start-up companies, Insert Therapeutics and Encirq. He earned his J.D. and A.B. in Political Science and Communications from Stanford University.
