Stephen P. Traynor
Senior Vice President, Financial Services and Community Investment

Stephen P. Traynor is Senior Vice President, Financial Services and Community Investment. He is responsible for the overall direction and management of the Community Investment and Financial Services Division. This includes community investment, sales, marketing, and execution of financial products and services, mortgage loan purchases from members, recruitment of members, management of existing products and development of new products, and creation of all corporate and marketing materials, including the website and e-commerce.

Mr. Traynor has extensive mortgage banking and capital markets experience, including mortgage loan origination, servicing, secondary marketing, mortgage-backed securities structuring, sales and trading, and fixed-income securities and derivatives issuance, sales, and trading. Mr. Traynor joined the Bank in 1995 as Assistant Treasurer and was promoted to Vice President in 1997. During this time, he was responsible for the Bank’s extensive agency debt issuance and hedging activities as well as its liquidity investment portfolio. In 1999, he was promoted to Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing and added the Community Investment responsibility in 2004. During this time, he significantly expanded the Bank’s business to include the purchase of mortgage loans from members.

Prior to joining the Bank, he was Vice President of Institutional Fixed Income Sales at Morgan Stanley & Company. Mr. Traynor earned a B.A. and an M.A. in Political Science from Case Western Reserve University.
