Portfolio Operations Analyst
Department: Portfolio Operations
Title: Portfolio Operations Analyst
Salary Range: Salary commensurate with experience.
Purpose
A floating position to provide backup support to the Advances Desk, Bonds/DN Desk, Investments/Deposits Desk and other desks as required. Duties include the performance of all desk procedures, review of transactions, and reporting.
Major Accountabilities
-
Perform operations and accounting responsibilities of Advance Desk, Bonds/DN Desk, Investments/Deposit Desk and other desks as needed. This includes transaction input and verification on a daily basis. Perform a secondary review on desks as needed. Perform rate resets and prepare daily rate control sheets.

Assist with daily telephone confirmation of new Advances.

File written Advance confirmations.

Respond to Member inquiries. Provide responsive customer service to Members.

Assist with tracking confirmations for Investments and with responding to inquiries from counterparties.

Assist with Fed Fund wire set-up and verification in the Wire Transfer system and with verbal set-up and verification of other department wires.

Assist with preparation of month-end G/L certifications.

Prepare and update control spreadsheets for transaction desks as needed.

Prepare compliance, regulatory and financial reports as requested.

Assist in preparing ad hoc reports for management.

Assist in preparing variance analysis.

Participate in meetings on issues and topics that affect the department.

Assist in updating policies and procedures for transaction desks.
Skills/Knowledge
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, a related field or equivalent education required.

Minimum of three years banking or insurance experience required within investment or loan servicing operations.

Able to operate PC-based software programs, including portfolio accounting software, and accounting and financial applications.

Strong interpersonal, problem resolution, organization and work prioritization skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Able to interface with all functions and at all levels within the Bank, including working effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
