Financial Reporting Analyst
Department: Portfolio Operations
Title: Financial Reporting Analyst
Salary Range: Salary commensurate with experience.
Purpose
Under general supervision, prepares various financial regulatory reports and reviews general ledger account reconciliations and analyses for monthly, quarterly and yearend periods.
Major Accountabilities

Prepare monthly, quarterly and year end portfolio operations financial reports.

Assist in the development of departmental reports using Crystal Reports and or Business Objects

Analyze data comprising reports for accuracy and compliance with reporting requirements.

Works with other departments to gain a working knowledge of operations impacting accounting.

Perform analyses of MPF loan loss reserves, delinquencies and real-estate owned (REO) accounting.

Maintain policies and procedures applicable to various Financial Accounting Standards and other applicable accounting standards.

As needed, back-up Financial Accounting Analysts in department; perform the basic accounting and operations duties for the Bank’s financial assets (MBS, MPF and Letters of Credit).

Assists others as requested, and performs ad hoc reporting as needed.
Skills/Knowledge

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent education, required.

Two to four years of experience in Treasury/Investment operations or accounting performing financial reporting duties.

Able to analyze, apply, interpret, and communicate policies, procedures, and regulations effectively.

Ability to operate PC-based software and/or automated database systems, such as portfolio accounting software and various accounting and financial applications required.

Understanding of database logic and ability to mine an existing database, utilizing understanding of financial and accounting concepts, to prepare financial analysis, calculations, and reports as the basis of accounting entries and for informational purposes required.

Knowledge of SQL, Crystal Reports, and Business Objects preferred.
Strong planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers required.
