Department: Financial Risk Management

Title: Financial Analyst

Salary Range: Salary commensurate with experience.

Purpose
Plans, coordinates, and manages the Bank’s budgeting activities, including the preparation of accurate and timely reports for all levels of Bank management and the Board of Directors. Responsible for leading various special projects as assigned by Management.

Major Accountabilities
  • Provide analytic support for the development of annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Responsible for analyzing and reporting monthly actual operating expense performance, relative to budget, by major cost category.
  • Responsible for quarterly analysis of actual operating expenses by business unit.
  • Responsible for ongoing identification and analyses of actual operating expense trends to ensure quick resolution and notification of issues to management.
  • Responsible for evaluating existing system software and database needs to ensure system support continues to efficiently and effectively meet analytical and reporting requirements.
  • Ensures all controls related to the budget process are in place and performing according to established policies and procedures; ensure system changes are made on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Work with IS project management function to improve reporting of actual initiative cost relative to budget (expense and capital).  
  • Act as “back-up” for the preparation of other FRM financial reporting.

Skills/Knowledge
  • Minimum of four years of financial services experience working in some aspects of budgeting, cost analysis, financial reporting, and/or business unit profitability analysis. 
  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field. CPA, MBA or other post-baccalaureate degree/certification, or equivalent experience, strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Experience with ACCESS, EXCEL, SQL databases preferred.
