Title: Community Investment Specialist
Salary Range: Salary commensurate with experience.
Purpose
Organize, coordinate, and support project, product-related, and operational aspects of the Community Investment Department. Update procedures and ensure the development of operational controls.
Major Accountabilities
- Provides data entry, data integrity support, and scoring assistance for project applications during the competitive rounds.
- Performs AHP account reconciliation and certification. Works with departmental and IT Applications Support staff to implement financial transaction processing improvements to the department’s database.
- Performs monthly reporting for the Metrics report and Board of Directors report.
- Provides operational and administrative support for the Bank’s Community Investment Cash Advance (CICA) program, to include technical assistance to members and Bank staff. Review Community Investment Program (CIP) and Advances for Community Enterprises (ACE) advance and letter of credit applications, management reporting, records retention, and required follow-up documentation.
- Maintains and monitors functionality of department’s CICA and accounting information systems. Coordinates with technical staff to upgrade or develop enhancements as needed.
- Prepares quarterly accounting reports and SARBOX Excel spreadsheet inventory report.
- Assists with the analysis, research, and preparation of ad hoc reports.
- Suggests changes and updates to policies and procedures for most efficient implementation of AHP regulation.
- Monitors all incoming repayments and other daily transactions to assure transactions are correctly processed and entered into the G/L and database.
- Monitors and informs management of monthly merger and acquisition activity.
- Requests documentation to support eligible use of CICA advances and letters of credit.
- Adheres to established CID operations and Bank SARBOX policies and procedures.
Skills/Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, a related field, or equivalent education desired.
- One to three years’ experience in community investment, lending, or loan processing within a financial institution preferred. Familiarity with AHP regulations, established guidelines, policies, and procedures desired.
- Ability to take initiative in a fast-paced work environment, work effectively under pressure, either independently or as a member of a team, and interact with all levels of internal and external customers required.
- Ability to operate PC-based software and/or automated database systems required.
- Excellent presentation and/or verbal or written communication skills with strong analytical and problem solving skills desired.
- Able to analyze, apply, interpret, and communicate policies, procedures, and regulations effectively.
