Collateral Asset Manager

Title: Collateral Asset Manager
Salary Range: Salary commensurate with experience.
Purpose
Conduct the audits and examinations of collateral pledged for Bank advances to ensure risk rating integrity, portfolio quality, completeness of loan documentation, credit policy adequacy, and adherence to policy and procedure.
Major Accountabilities
Ensures risk management policies and procedures are adhered to by monitoring pledged mortgages for assigned caseload of members.
Conducts on-site reviews to assess assigned members’ loan origination, servicing, and credit management operations; lending strategies and policies; and the mortgage collateral pledged to the Bank.
Monitors members’ risk profile quarterly based on member business risk matrix, blanket lien collateral reconciliations, and portfolio stratification analysis.
Prepares member field review result reports providing an evaluation of members’ lending operations and collateral eligibility; makes recommendations for collateral margins, field review frequency and any remedial actions needed.
Assists Relationship Managers and members in pledging additional eligible collateral for Bank advances.
Manages collateral exposure risk to mitigate impact to the Bank through analysis of policy and procedure changes, margin components, real estate markets, and the members’ lending strategies and collateral position.
Performs periodic research and analysis of Bank policies and procedures. Recommends policy and/or procedure changes to management for approval.
Skills/Knowledge

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field, or equivalent education, required.

Five to seven years' progressively responsible experience in real estate appraisal, loan underwriting, credit, and secondary marketing required. Loan servicing and property management experience desired.

Must be able to travel a minimum of 45% to 55% of the time.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Demonstrated knowledge of residential and income property loan underwriting, origination, and servicing principles and process required.

Able to analyze, interpret, and communicate policies, procedures, and regulations effectively.

Ability to operate PC-based software and/or automated database systems required.

Able to take initiative in fast-paced work environment and to interface with all functions at all levels, both within and outside the organization.
